Humanities Diliman Vol. 18 No. 1

We are pleased to announce the publication of Humanities Diliman Vol. 18 No. 1 (Jan-June 2021). This issue features articles by John Adrianfer Atienza on Pathé newsreels on the Liberation of Manila; Jen Mutia Eusebio on the Anglo-Hispanic confluence in the works of Commonwealth poets Rafael Zulueta da Costa and José Garcia Villa; Faye Fuentes and F.P.A. Demeterio III on the hablon industry in Miagao, Iloilo; and I Nyoman Widya Paramadhyaksa and Ngakan Ketut Acwin Dwijendra on traditional Balinese village architecture. It also includes a monograph by Caroline S. Hau on María Clara’s reception and circulation within and beyond the field of literature, tracking the character’s “afterlives” in domains such as Philippine women’s studies and Philippine law. Reviews by Jose Santos P. Ardivilla and Herdi Sahrasad complete the issue. This is the first issue of Humanities Diliman under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Ruth Jordana L. Pison from the Department of English and Comparative Literature, College of Arts and Letters.
