Social Science Diliman

The Research Dissemination and Utilization Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, University of the Philippines Diliman is accepting papers for publication in SOCIAL SCIENCE DILIMAN, an internationally refereed semi-annual journal for the social sciences.

Humanities Diliman

Submissions for the new Humanities Diliman issue are now being considered. The deadline for the December issue is July 30 and January 30 for the June issue.You may submit manuscripts on any aspect of humanities. reviews of current scholarship, art exhibits, literary and theatrical work, architectural and clothing designs are also welcome.

CFA Summer 2010 Art Workshop

The College of Fine Arts offers the following courses this summer:

1. Basic Drawing (7 to 12 years old): Learn the basic
knowledge and skills in drawing, composition and color exploration; manipulate different kinds of medium such as charcoal, watercolor, oil pastel and the visual possibilities of mixed media techniques.
April 12- May 3

2. Basic Printmaking Course: Learn basic techniques in printmaking such as the collograph, monotype and drypoint plus chinecolle coloring technique.
April 6-28

3. Kids at Art Summer Workshop: The workshop aims to provide an environment for children to freely express themselves in order to develop their natural artistic abilities, creativity in the arts and creative problem solving skills.
4. Painting with Light: Artplay Pinhole Photography: This workshop aims to provide a functional knowledge of the photographic process through basic darkroom techniques; and pinhole photography and camera production.

5. Basic Drawing Workshop: The workshops provide primary lessons in art techniques and art themes for art lovers who are in the beginner’s level.
6. Basic Photography: A hands-on workshop on the basics of photography. Participants will be introduced to the principles of design, darkroom printing and developing and studio shooting.

7. Oil/Acrylic Painting: An introduction to oil/acrylic painting techniques with still life photographs and human figure as subject.
