Humanities Diliman

Submissions for the new Humanities Diliman issue are now being considered. The deadline for the December issue is July 30 and January 30 for the June issue.You may submit manuscripts on any aspect of humanities. reviews of current scholarship, art exhibits, literary and theatrical work, architectural and clothing designs are also welcome.

Science Diliman

The Research Dissemination and Utilization Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, University of the Philippines Diliman is accepting papers for publication in SCIENCE DILIMAN, an internationally refereed semi-annual journal of pure and applied sciences.

Call for Papers: Musika Jornal

The UP Center for Ethnomusicology invites scholars, thinkers and music practitioners to submit scientific papers or critical essays on the theme Music & Ritual.

MUSIKA JORNAL is a refereed scholarly periodical that saw the publication of three issues during the incumbency of Dr. Jose Maceda as Chair of the Department of Asian Music in the late 1970’s (77,78,79).  Its revival issue was launched in January 2008 featuring articles on performance and performance theories.

For the coming issue, Musika Jornal 7, submissions must follow this format:

  • Language in English or Filipino (with short summary in English)
  • Not less than 6 pages and not more than 30 pages of text
  • Double-spaced, 12pts, 1.5″ margin all-over
  • Text and bibliography formatted according to the Chicago Manual Style, MS Word 2007
  • All annotations must be reflected as endnotes
  • Accompanying pictures must be properly labeled/captioned, resolution in 300-600 dpi jpeg, and source properly acknowledged
  • Name of transcribers, annotators and other collaborators in the article should be properly recognized in the submissions

Submission should include:

  • A bibliography of all sources quoted or mentioned in the paper
  • A glossary of musical/technical terms appearing in the text, with short (1 phrase or 1 sentence) definitions
  • An abstract of no more than 150 words
  • A short biography of the author (not more than 100 words)
  • Hardcopy and electronic file

All contributors shall receive token honoraria, 5 complimentary copies for major articles and 1 complimentary copy for reviews.

Author shall secure permission for all copyrighted materials that will be included in the article/s.

Musika Jornal 7 is intended to be launched in November 2010. Deadline for submission is June 25, 2010.
