Faculty Development Fund Journal Page Charges (FDF-JPC)
1. This grant will be strictly for page charges for articles to be published in journals accredited by UPD to be acceptable for tenure purposes.
2. Papers that have been submitted to conferences for which the author was granted a separate RDG are not eligible for FDF-JPC, unless selected papers in that conference are automatically submitted to the journal by the conference organizers. Such papers will be given a lower priority for funding.
3. Considerations for accepted papers:
- Paper must be academic/scientific with topic in a priority field of the unit.
- The material should not have been previously published by the author.
- Priority will be given to those who have not received an RDG grant for the year.
- If research is funded, secure any necessary clearances from the funding institution (as defined in the funding contract).
- If research is patentable, notify OVCRD for advice and assistance on IP protection (to protect against prejudicial early disclosure).
4. If the paper in question has coauthors not from UPD, then the full amount may not be granted. The author(s) from UPD are encouraged to ask their external co-authors to defray part of the publication cost.
5. The authors are encouraged to avoid overlength page charges and to request for a discount from the publishers. The full amount may not be granted if it includes overlength page charges.

- proposal to disseminate research output endorsed by Head of Unit/ Dean
