Research Lines

Research Lines will feature research from the UP Diliman academic community on the humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and the social sciences. What lines are being pursued, how they merge with, and deviate from mainstream trends in the national and global spheres, how they disrupt in order to create and innovate (to echo Diosdado Banatao, Fil-Am scientist and entrepreneur from Silicon Valley). How these lines could generate financial returns for the University, the researchers, and the larger community.

Research Lines seeks to dispel images of the scientist cooped up in the lab, the artist in an ivory tower, and the social scientist absorbed in quantifications (despite the paradox of the name). Its main concern is to establish points of contact between academe and the wider public so the latter can understand, value, support, and utilize research.

Research Lines aims to popularize research to reach the community for whose benefit all research must serve.
